Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau for February 26, 2014
Transcript:
Sid: Here we go... Ted Nugent, Dennis Miller, Chuck Norris-- not seeing a lot of Q here, Preebo. Reince Priebus: What is Q? Sid: A Q score is a measurement of both familiarity and appeal. These guys are off the charts, and not in a good way. Reince Priebus: Well, it doesn't have to be them specifically. Who else is on the master list of GOP celebrities? Sid: That is the master list. Reince Priebus: *sigh* Well, how about a Dem celebrity? Could you flip one?

Garry, if you can’t either stop running so many reruns, or at least run older ones, I swear I am going to stop reading your strip entirely and read your work solely in second-hand copies of your books that I pick up for fifty cents at yard sales.

Ted Nugent’s trying his hardest, but his appeal is getting narrower.

I’m not actually reading the strip except for Sundays, just the comments… ;-)
The GoComics moderator has been informed that Factchecker’s style and concerns look remarkably familiar to regulars here. Follow up on that as you all think fit…

According to the Chicago Tribune, Doonesbury is on hiatus “at least” until fall as Trudeau works on the Alpha House, which has been renewed for another season…no more Doonesbury for quite a while. Yuck.

What’s amazing is that even though this is a rerun, it is still current, at least in regards to Ted Nugent. He just keeps the hits a’comin’.

One can hope that Abbott is mistaken about Texans as he continues to campaign with Nugent.

Won’t read free reruns? I wonder how many of those bought DVDs to be seen again.
Beleck3 almost 11 years ago
oh no Texas is the land of extremists, as it always has been. watching Abbot is pure Republican political “practice.” nothing new here. the R’s have to destory Texas completely as is their rule everywhere.
nothing to see here! move on please

Top Republican celebrities, those great American philosophers, Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson.

I also heard that Trudeau had a death in the family, and that was the main reason we are in reruns.

You can tell this strip is a re-run because they’re talking about Ted Nugent in the present tense, and we all know that as of April 2013 he was either dead or in prison, just as he promised before the 2012 election. Can’t remember which it is or how he did it; let’s check the interwebs… (sound of keys clicking)…
Oh. He was lying. Just like a Repug…

No, we tried that from 1980 to 1988 and it was a disaster!

Not that they should, but that they DO. I stopped watching “the news” once they just started reporting twitter feeds and celb trials.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting more work after being Governor than before. This disproves the black list comment.

Great director, lousy actor with empty chairs.

They should go with Nugent. He articulates Republican/Fox “news” viewers hatred of Obama as well as any other Republican.

Speaking of chuck norris (which no-one is), his political acumen is rivaled only by his acting ability.

I keep hoping for the funny ones, then we keep getting the ignorant, “too cool for school” ones.

Why would Hollywood people support a Party that doesn’t give them huge tax breaks, welfare, and doesn’t live in a fantasy world??

Alec Baldwin did not leave USA when Baby Bush was reelected in 2008, He was lying too,
Why do you give him a pass?
Alec Baldwin denied he ever said he’d leave (the threat was supposedly implied in an interview with his wife Kim Basinger in a German magazine). In any event, that was back in 2000 (I’m assuming your 2008 was a typo, since Bush was winding up his term in office in that year, and rolling up the economy behind him). So while Baldwin’s (and other’s) supposed threats to leave if Shrub got elected were as foolish as Nugent’s, Nugent is a special brand of crazy – and at it a lot more recently.http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/leave.asp

Then, they removed your posts from yesterday.

Well, according to the last article I read, while he was campaigning for some republican or other, he’s just a whiny, petulant old man. Kind of a gentile Woody Allen.
BE THIS GUY almost 11 years ago
The last thing he was in was “The Expendables 2” in 2012.
