@caymanqtI think someone got it yesterday. It is an old Cabinet position that has been sliced and diced into two or three separate agencies now. If memory serves,it stands for Health, Education, and Welfare.

The ages of the “Doonesbury” characters were always pretty fluid. Mike and B.D. would be close to retirement if they aged in real time, whereas Zonker is a freak of nature and is completely ageless. Children and grandchildren grew at different speeds. All of this is by way of saying, wasn’t Zeke quite a bit older than J.J.? I don’t remember it ever really being mentioned but he seemed much older and much less wise (not that J.J. was ever all that wise….)

Just think of GPS.Paid for by Navy needing accurate positioning.Doesn’t cost a penny more for all its civilian uses around the world. Value trillions of dollars.Same with weather service..What SHOULDN’T be done is spending public money to pay back private favors.
