Looks like a powder puff appears in the last panel.

There was a really large “mouse hole” in the hallway, probably too big for a mouse to have made.

I tried one of those toilet brushes for a while but I soon went back to the paper.

I always mix up the architectural styles: is this ‘crackhouse’ or ‘slumlord’?

This episode is one of GT’s best. It is so rich with both onstage and offstage material. The readers can so easily add their own touch, like having to constantly look at the stair treads to find a trash free place to step and finally taking a step only to learn that the dimly lit staircase hid the presence of a dead rat.

Wait until they plug in AC only appliances and they smoke and burn out and discover that the building is served by DC from a nearby power plant by the river that also supplies steam heat.

The place is getting better already! The crack in the wall is gone by the last panel.

All accomplishments started out as imagination..The bad accomplishments, too, of course, but that’s a separate matter.

The agent might be highly ignorant but in my experience from 20 years ago an agent showed me so many houses that I forgot about one house I really liked. I bought the one I didn’t like, so here I am in a bungalow 20 years later instead of the two story house with the sagged foundation that could have been fixed. The agent has been out of the real estate business for some years, possibly because he sensed what has been going on in this comic strip.
