Guard: Warden? Here's an update on the inmates' demands. Things are reaching a boil in there, sir. The events of the last few weeks have really taken their toll. Should we call Washington, sir? Warden: This can't be happening. I can't be the first warden ever to preside over a minimum security prison riot! Slackmeyer and Inmates: Curb federal spending! Curb federal spending!

“By the end of his term, 138 Reagan administration officials had been convicted, had been indicted, or had been the subject of official investigations for official misconduct and/or criminal violations. In terms of number of officials involved, the record of his administration was the worst ever.”from p. 184,Sleep-Walking Through History: America in the Reagan Years, by Haynes Johnson, (1991, Doubleday)

Saw the movie last night, “The Brainwashing of My Dad” about the rise of the right wing media. Learned about “ditto-heads” which I’d never heard and about Roger Ailes instructing Nixon more refined methods of scaring and tricking people: Today television news is watched more often than people read newspapers, than people listen to the radio, than people read or gather any other form of communication. The reason: People are lazy. With television you just sit—watch—listen. The thinking is done for you. Today we’re seeing the rotten fruit of lazy people wanting their thinking done for them: Donald Trump as a (gasp) candidate for POTUS. Don’t touch that dial!

I think that curbing Federal spending is a great idea. Let’s start with the bailouts/handouts to large corporations and the outrageous salaries and retirement packages for Senators and Congress people.

" Could a demagogue like Trump be more than a joke if that was the case in this country?"
.
He wouldn’t even be that if we provided a better alternative than Hillary is.

Why would I talk to him? He’s never sent me a birthday card.

Funny how vote-flipping machine companies are owned by large GOP donors. They really helped Bush in Ohio, where fortune favors Diebold.
