Warden: Phil? I'm afraid it's out of my hands now. The governor has taken over. Slackmeyer: Put him on! Governor: Mr. Slackmeyer? Your little protest is over. Time to come out. Slackmeyer: No way, governor! Not with the whole world watching! You're going to have to do business with me, governor! I hate to sound smug, but from where I'm sitting... I'm holding all the cards. Governor: Uh-huh...
There is one big fallacy in all of this. This being a federal lockup, the governor has nothing to do with it. Maybe the federal Superintendent of Prisons but not the governor. (And yeah, I know. It’s a cartoon.)
