One of the very few times Duke is showing a sort of affection for Honey.

Honey seems reasonably cheerful in the first panel, so things must have been going fairly well up to this point.

If he’s “sober” now, doesn’t that imply that, prior to waking up in Monday’s strip, he’d been drunk/drugged since before his meeting with Newt Gingrich? That would mean that instead of being a nasty drunk, Duke’s a DIABOLICAL drunk.

So is Duke coming to his senses or is he going out of his mind? For him, the outcome is pretty much the same.

I wonder if Duke knows he’s a priest?

I have a feeling this story line isn’t working so Trudeau is falling back on jokes about Duke’s drug habits.
