The trench is more effective—less risk of her husband catching you there!

You fellows would be in greater peril from Trumpty-Dumpty’s taking over the press than you would from the VC!

Bill O’Reilly watched all the combat of the Faulkland Islands war.

    From his hotel room.

Any mention of an entrenching tool always triggers a memory of Firesign Theatre. “Don’t eat with your hands, son; use your entrenching tool.”

Check the hotel walls for bullet penetration from outside. It won’t stop 50 BMG and larger rounds.

Never dig a foxhole when there are combat engineers around to help you fashion one.

From what I saw on Generation Kill on HBO, the primary use of the entrenching too was to dig a hole to take a dump in.

The entrenching tool is a multi-use instrument. It’s primary use is to dig a hole. The reason for the hole varies. Bodily functions are sometimes more prevalent while taking incoming, so dual use is another trait. Also, many an enemy has been dispatched using an entrenching tool. A bit more messy, but better than the alternatives.

Just make sure your enemy does NOT have machine guns if you decide to attack their position
