Ralph isn’t that old but at a certain point i do think people should have to pass a driving test when they renew their license! I’m a bit biased because I was rammed into by an old woman driving a big truck and have never completely recovered (completely totaled my jeep too :-/ )
A lot of cars, even older cars from the 90s, had a feature that would warn the driver their signal was left on by dinging loudly enough to make you think something was wrong with the car – and there was: you’re not paying attention! :-P
I’m an older driver. I know that my reflexes are not what they used to be, so I drive more carefully. And don’t drive at night. The guy that ran a red light and totaled my car was in his thirties. He was looking at his phone at the time. I seldom see older drivers looking at their phones while driving.
I have a neighbor that will be 99, this month. He lives alone, and still drives, and honestly, he drives better than a lot of people I’ve seen that are 1/3 his age!

I guess it’s too much work to draw seat belts?

Today, the “kids” are so busy with their phones & texting, they are worse.

Don’t tell him, Norm. It’s all he’s got left. Right?

You better mention the blinker — that could cause an accident.

You can just ask him, “Are we turning?” or “When will we be turning?”

Actually the blinker is a much bigger problem.

My bike has turn signals, that turn off after I turn, so they’re never on for long.
