I kept the 1st dozen roses my husband gave me (back when I was just 16 and he was my boyfriend) dried them and kept them for about 15yrs when my mother in law’s naughty little devil dog (a Yorkshire Terrier and a spoiled brat! Used to even bite her!) decided it would be fun to chew them to bits :-/ She took the little monster with her everywhere so had brought her along when they came to dinner one night. I found the roses scattered all over the bedroom floor and was not happy!
When we got our 1st cat- Midnight in 2000, he would snap the heads off any flowers brought into the house. He’d even get them when I put the behind other items in a corner. Gave my husband an excuse to never buy me flowers- of any kind. Sometimes I would wonder if hubby taught him that.
Even my wife says buying flowers for Valentines day is a waste of money given the inflated prices she ‘suggests’ i get them a week before and on V day open a ‘treasure of the cellar’. Then buy flowers all year long.

You don’t have to water them but you do have to dust them. You can’t win.

Nice of Norm to actually put some “thought” into his gift!

So is Norm celebrating Mardi Gras, too? Or is he just an LSU fan?

I always bought my ex-wife Valentine’s Day cards…..I was so thoughtful that I took her to the .99 store and let her pick out the one she really liked.

And, unlike Norm, they’re low maintenance.
