FYI, Don’t put an unknown object, like a cucumber, behind a cat. It scares them. For example, doing it where they eat. They consider that a safe space.
My hubby’s cats and dog didn’t mind the vacuum, plus it was the cat fights withe one another we had to vacuum up most. Fast forward to later years and Alex, was fascinated by the vacuum. Brandy would go lay on my chair and watch me. Cassidy completed ignored it and would lay down in the room I wasn’t vacuuming and when I got to it go lay down on her chair (well mine) Buddy Max was not a fan.

My dog didn’t like vacuum cleaners either but he did not hide, he would attack it and bite it.

Well, vacuum cleaners are inherently evil, screeching, world sucking beasts. Worthy of dread and awe. Cucumbers are just weird. Stupid cats.

All of my cats have had varying interest in green olives. One would eat olives, another one, if you spilled some juice, would rub her face in it.
