I once got a free ticket to a first row 50-yard-line seat to an Oakland Raider game in the Coliseum. It was a prize awarded to my pal’s mom, a teacher in the Oakland schools. When we got there, we found out why they were free. We couldn’t see anything. The first row was literally at ground level and all the players and coaches and staff stood directly in front of us, nearly all six-footers in cleats. Once in a while on a pass or punt we’d see a ball sail up over the line of bodies, but that’s it.
