Abby’s right. This is just stupid. Cramming things into kids’ heads doesn’t work!
There’s probably both a measure of exagguration and truth in this arc, unfortunately most likely more fact than fiction.

Okay, now that’s a little uncalled for from the teacher. If it was a case that she was doing it because a higher up was commanding it, then I’d sympathize a bit more, but looks to me she’s been drinking the kool-aid, as it were, too.
Really going to help the kids if the parents “help”, involves the parents doing some or all of the work.
It’s worse in high school, where six periods of teachers seem to be unaware of the amount of homework each one is assigning.
