But the greatest prison punishment is alone in the dark without any hope. I worked 5 years in a prison. Some went nuts fast, others just got crazy, hostile or downright nasty to all the staff, no matter, I was a nurse, but no mind, I was still the “man”.From the look on her face I can identify her over and over. AN you are a powerful artist as well as a good one. Blessed Be.

I’m surprised they let her have clothes at all, considering the regard they have for non-humans.

“I’m surprised they let her have clothes at all, considering the regard they have for non-humans.”It’s a reminder of what she was just a few hours ago, to rub her nose in it.

Hope can be the most insidious torture when used properly.

Hope is probably what convinced her to press on and endure everything…for what we already know is inevitably a lost cause.

I’m surprised the tail is there also. In fact the whole drawing seems out of scale for her. She is more stocky than in other drawings. I am being too critical to encourage other people to drop any further comments on the artwork and concentrate on the story, which is much more inportant right now. Getting back to the tail, I am wondering just who decided to remove it and why, and how (Was ther anesthesia involved, hopefully). The ride is indeed getting bumpier.

Oh, that lovely, lovely tail… Check out today’s Calvin and Hobbes for another tail comment. That last panel is so evocative, I had to magnify. All that emotion, conveyed thru pen and ink.

Now one can see what the occupants of the Hanoi Hilton felt in that last panel.

    To SapphireDragonStudios.

Your view on Hope was dead on. It kept me going in Nam when I was separated from my unit for three days. I hoped I could find them. (Then I was going to kick their butts for leaving me behind!) But they did not know I was alive. They saw the mortar round hit next to me tossing me into the brush. They thought I was dead and did what I would have done when under the attack we were. Save yourself.

To respond to Three Steps Over about keeping her to work on the project.

Why not? She could have inside information. They may not have all the information they need. Scientists are very secretive about their work. They do not like to share it fearing it could be stolen and become someone elses great idea. They might not at the time had all the info they needed. Torture just to Torture. Topsiders appear to have an agenda. Survival and domination. They are breaking her. Training her. Taking away her will to resist. They are prepping her. They would not be working for her. She would be working for them. Trained Kitty. We can only wait to see what occures. She has use for now. They just need to make her compliant.

I was more than a little shocked to see the tail. I have heard speculation that Flask had a tail and removed it but I figured from last week’s pictures that Flask never had one. How does one hid a full length tail under a skin tight biosuit?

I’m not sure that Flask’s proportions are off in the last panel, her being curled up in a ball makes it hard to guess.

So, her large posterior wasn’t just her self image, it was the tail taking up space…….

This is what we might fear the most, living in an apocalypticworld ruled by supremacists and their puppets. That was Adolf Hitler’s twisted dream. Good thing my late granfather and others who served in WWII stopped him before it was too late.

I’m pleasantly surprised at the number of vets, especially Viet Nam vets that post here. I was in the AF from ‘70 to ’74 and got sent to Turkey. I consider myself thankful in that regard and salute all you who were in country during that time.My brother and brother-in-law went to Nam and I’m gld they came back. On a similar note, I just completed reading “American Fascists” and how the religious right is attempting to take control of the U.S.government in preparation for Armageddon. It’s a scary book, no matter how you believe. And while Endtown with the mutations can’t happen, having to live in a subterranean city searching for beans in ruins is a distinct possibility I would rather avoid.
