Well, he does have a point. If he’d become a shark or mold, obviously he would have been a lawyer… or a politician.

The coat is stained with garbage, so I don’t trust that “deduction”. It was very convenient that the fox showed up then to save their lives. He dresses like a Marx and talks like a Marx…

The fox and his look in panel 2 are very interesting. He sees Holly’s collapse after Doc’s comment…and is moved by it enough to yell at Doc about not giving up (so Holly can hear).

Guess his name??Aaron Marx as a start.Aaron Foxx……would be a good fit. We have had Erin Marx from the Red tide story. But does he have a dimensionometer?? This may be the difference here….this fellow cant jump the reality lines…..his place and his mission is here…….prep for the end……defend against Eye.Just guessing…..our author will lead the way.

Maybe Mr. Simon Says isn’t quite as simple as I thought.

His name is Freddy Filbert, and he’s a full-time firefighter, but on Fridays he works at Fridays as a fryer.

If he is a Marx, he didn’t call himself that then, because Holly apparently didn’t recognize his name when the human version introduced himself.

Anyone else notice that the cat looks a bit like Marx if he was affected by the whole thing? Similar scruffy hair, the suit trope, I wouldn’t be surprised.

The fox’s clothing and personality may be another Lyn Glare moment. If we think he looks like a mutant Marx, Wally and Holly would also probably think so. (Kirbee, Chick, and Irving haven’t met him, that we know of.) The original events may have had someone different, but the director of this play could be giving clues to his identity. The off-script glares are indications enough that we shouldn’t trust everything in this docudrama. It’s based on actual events, but not everything is actual.

I´d call Doc Hawkeye, but this isn´t M*A*S*H even though the surroundings could confuse you.

The deduction that Chase is a doc: Not that he is covered in blood (childbirth and his own auto accident), but that he takes the soiling in his stride while he concentrates on something else. And the “death wish”? I think that comes from a severe sense of deeply-ingrained self-sacrifice. I know another cartoon doctor like that.

I don’t know how this could be possible, but that fox isn’t Marx; he’s LYN!!! (or whatever entity was posing as Lyn and glaring at Wally) ;-)

Suit coat, white shirt, bow tie. He’s sure wearing Lyn’s clothes. Obviously Lyn was more than just part of the illusion since he interacted with Wally. This is more than just a replay of Holly’s memory, but how much more and to what purpose remains to be seen… ;-)

If this really is a “realistic” depiction of Holly’s backstory, then Doc knew a whole lot more than he let on when he tagged Wally for this rehab assignment. Curiouser and curiouser. ;-)

Panel 2 says a whole lot more that just what’s in the speech bubbles. Holly’s expression and the fox’s reaction to her scream significance.

Think of this as a Star Trek holodeck. The program being run is based on a recording of past events (Holly’s memories) but the computer running the program (whoever is behind all this) is making small changes to the original record which are therefore only noticeable to the “real” persons actually inside the holodeck. Clear as mud? ;-)
