Perhaps they’re being stalked. Perhaps whoever or whatever it is is messing with the information given by the Topsider’s tablet to confuse and mislead them so it can move in for the kill when they’re tired and frustrated.
OK, something is not quite right. A topsider grabbed Chic, and then was bombarded by Duffy & friends with paint, rendering the topsider visible. Chic was released when Duffy approached with a knife. The topsider must have seen Duffy. If it was her, she ought to remember that, even with her subsequent wanderings.
She has just admitted being on the beach before she encountered Wally, Duffy and Alan. But no mention of Duffy’s brother or of Chic. That’s rather sinister on the face of it. She might not mention this, but she should have seen the similarity between Duffy and his brother and be alert for another attempt on her life.
So, was more than one topsider traveling like her?
But it also throws light on Ravenscroft’s insistence on getting the recorder. He must have known something about what she just said. And he had the gateways map on his wall.
I’m getting tired of her snarky, smug attitude towards the others. She considers herself superior and them inferior, which they are not. No matter their appearance, they are people just as she is. Although they don’t have her training in physics, science, or whatever, that doesn’t make them stupid. I really hope she gets a comeuppance without any of them being killed.
In other news, if writing the symbols is enough to cause rifts to open, when is Wally going to realize that his dittos could very well give him the power open portals if used correctly?
She really isn’t thinking through the whole variable-time issue, is she? She is, and was, and will be, and may not be, and may not have been, and may not be going to be…
By the way, one thing I noticed, the animorphs seem to be ignorant of their past, unable to think very clearly. Could it be that the “humans” have also been somewhat infected, but are currently trapped in a state of hate, violence, and bitterness?

The mysteries deepen…
And something is loose in the tower besides them…

So THAT’s what Ravenscroft was up to.

Kinda sad that Ravenscroft was amongst the first to go.
Kinda like that song about the Swamp Witch back in the 1970s.
When the disease hit the town, “Doc Jackson was the first to go.”
Anyone remember that song?
