When my husband’s grandmother was well into her 90s, the doctors were still getting on her about her diet. The woman was tiny – I bet barely 90# – and I’m thinking at that stage of life, let her enjoy her “unhealthy” treats. Sheesh!
When my grandmother was 90+ , her son the Dr. told the home she was in to let her eat what she wanted. At that age it didn’t matter. At least for her . She loved salt, and sweets. But did eat healthy also. She lived to 100 and 4 months.
A large part of me will die the day my doctor tells me not to eat cheese anymore. OK, I will still eat it, but perhaps not as much. Much as I’m closer to old than young, I still have a long way to go to 90. Best yet, so far, I have not received that instruction!

NOT waiting until ninety to eat what I want. Judge me to your heart’s content.

Reminds me of a meme with Doctor Who. The Doctor was eating cotton candy and the option read “What? I’m 904.”

I’d rather live for 75 years than exist for 100, and doing whatever I please qualifies as living.

When my father-in-law turned 90 his doctor had the same advice.
