Aww, Mike’s costume is really cute!! And Lawrence makes a great little Batman too, lol xD
Gee, you’d think John could have gotten into the spirit of things, even just a little bit! Even a set of fake fangs, because he’s certainly doing more than his fair share of the chompin’!!!
I remember my dad doing that. Happy Halloween everyone. Be safe, there are little spooks about, and if you see any aliens sneaking about, dont call the cops, its little kids, but they will invade your yard to conquer your candy, or liberate you from your candy, depends on if they are friendly or not.
The kids get the wrapped stuff- unless they know someone well, most parents won’t give kids toffee apples or popcorn balls these days (or even in the 70s when I was a kid). He really is taking one for the team!
Better than on another group I’m on where a woman said about 50% of the parents out there throw out most or ALL of their kids’ candy as soon as they get home, because it’s not good for them. One night, or even a week, of candy isn’t going to do any lasting harm.
John, you should just toss the ‘home made’ items away, don’t even trust them. That’s the way it was at OUR house (unless we REALLY knew the person, then it was ok to eat it [ie if Grandma made us special snack.]))
Anyway, I need brains. If you can sit still I’ll only take a moment to eat yours :D
The best Halloween treat I got was from a man that had 4 big threatening looking dogs that ran free in his yard. The kid that I was trick or treating with was this man’s paperboy. He knew the dogs weren’t mean. The guy gave us two full sized candy bars each, plus a bottle of pop and a 50 cent piece each.
There’s a little bit to the legend, fbjsr I remember watching the news when I was in High School in Texas, and razor blades in apples was popular. I remember seeing the xray image of it on TV. There was also the Candy Man….the guy who put cyanide in giant pixie sticks and gave the two tampered ones to his son and his son’s friend. He got death and dead he is.
Dentists need a dentist too, and I don’t think dentists give the best treats. My dad was a great dentist (he had fillings too… dentists can have sweet tooths), and one year he gave out toothbrushes.
I read an article a few years ago that said there has never been an instance of razor blades, poison or anything else bad found in Halloween treats that wasn’t put there by a member of the kid’s own family. Now THAT’S scary!
My dad was NEVER this mean! He always joked by saying “half of that is mine!” and stuff like that. But, we also never ate until the next morning. Maybe ONE. maybe…

Keep that up, John, and you may be looking for a dentist…or maybe a weight loss clinic. Maybe both?

Dad always said, “Don’t eat any of the candy until you get home and I check it out.” Yeah, right Dad.

Where are their masks or face paint? The fun of Halloween (besides the candy) is changing your face.

My husband just said it was probably a plot by the candy manufacturers to force us all into buying tons of candy every year. LOL He’s probably right.

Pearlandpeach - amen! Too much parenting advice in the comments and not enough appreciation of the humor.
