Maybe it’s not to look better, but something like flannel that she wouldn’t wear at home.

Always have a nice nightie handy “in case of fire.”

My wife wears her nightgown around the house for hours before and after bed. It seems more necessary there than IN the bed.But if you need to gripe…

C’mon, Jon – she’s just bought the new clothes she’d need for the next 6 months. Think of it as “Christmas 2,0.”

I spent a month “all expenses paid” in England when my husband was working there. Somehow it ended up costing us over $3000 just in souvenirs.

I understand about the concept of the nightgown, but I can’t really explain it. Maybe what she sleeps in now is kind of worn, but “comfortable” and she wants something that looks better in case she has to run outside because of an emergency. Like a fire.

Have we considered the possibility that the nightgown is for when she gets BACK from the conference? :grin:

That is odd. Virtually every employer has a dress code. Sometimes the employer will supply it, such as a military uniform. However, places such as a funeral parlor are requiring of clothes such as black suit framing a white shirt, tie and so forth. Since you need to buy those in order to get the job, then it is tax-deductible.
