I think that Mike just learned something. Like now is a good time to shut up and forget whatever he thinks he saw.

My youngest needs to learn that. Whenever I make a mistake (cooking, driving, anything…), she harps on and on about it for days. I know the Elly-haters will jump on her for not smiling and saying, “Oh yes, it WAS ours, silly me” but this is real, non-violent, and at least Mike will go into adulthood knowing there are things better left unsaid.

Excellent! I don’t get it, snow and ice are slippery EVERY YEAR, but people “forget”! We’ve had several 20+ vehicle pile ups so far. I think they are trying for a record. That would be 200. It happened in OK, I believe, but in a fog or smoke from a fire not snow.

One of the drawbacks of living in a place that gets very cold.

Michael just got The Look !

    The Look needs no words…

The most effective tools in the parenting kit are The Look and The Point ! Separately, extremely effective – combined lethal !

The fourth panel seems to be that Elly is angry with herself for running the car into the ditch, or she could be annoyed that her argument with her husband turned out to be a Phyrric victory as the snowstorm made it a moot point. I agree, that the “scrunch face” makes it look like Elly is badly in need of milk of magensia.
