Reminded me of a cousin. His parents went away on vacation leaving him at home (age 18). His mother put up post-its to remind him of things to do and not to do. The family joke is that she forgot the note saying, “Don’t get married.” They returned home to find he had married his girlfriend.
My God yes. I had many patients who thought they were the experts because they had read something online or seen a medical TV drama. I often heard the line “they don’t do it that way on Casualty/ER/Holby City” etc. Saw one episode where the doctor was reading the ECg/EKG printout. Shame he was holding it upside down. Worryingly, the advisor to the tv show was a consultant at the hospital I worked at.

but will nag-a-note be effective?

Probably about as well as nagging them verbally, which is to say, not very well.

I definitely approve her method. Straight to the point, no chance for backtalk. :)

“Lynn’s Notes:
This was a true story. I did post notes to the family in lieu of nagging…and the notes worked!

For a brief period, I lived with someone who believed in the “nag-by-note” theory.
I believed in “unsaid – unread” form of passive resistance.
