I’m the same way. A little bit of a belly but other than that Im quite slim. And I eat like Peter. I can remember when I was a kid, I couldnt gain weight to save my life. Even ordered Weiders Crash weight gain 7 for 20 bucks which was a lot of money for a kid in 1969. Anyone old enough to remember those ads will remember there was a picture of two guys. One was a skinny guy that looked like a strong wind would blow him away and the next picture was a guy that was all muscled up and huge. Supposedly he got that way after only 14 days of drinking this stuff. Needless to say it didnt work. What a sucker I was . But I“ll bet they sold tons of that stuff to kids just like me.
I’ve actually overeaten to the point of getting sick on numerous occasions since starting college. I will definitely need to rework pacing and intake before I develop weight problems, diabetes, or worse.
I’ve also been a hard gainer. The only time I got fat was when I had a programming project with a tight deadline and I spent all my waking hours in front of the computer eating pizza as I was coding. I was around 45 then. I burned it all off next Summer rebuilding the chimney and putting on a new roof.
my mom used to make my dad eat a couple of sandwiches before we would go out to dinner with friends just so he didn’t make a pig of himself. he would still out-eat everyone there. It was like that until he was about 50 and I was 15 - I was finally able to eat more than him - although I filled out more than his 134lbs.
@hunternet93: I believe you’re right. However, as TRapperJohn, TheWildSow, and I all interpreted it differently, at least initially, my opinion is that this comic was not well drawn to make the desired joke clear.

I think he’s referring to how the more he eats, the more he sinks into the couch while Peter doesn’t even make a dent in the cushions

I am pushing 50 and am only a couple of pounds heavier than when I graduated high school. Helps keeping active. Afraid I eat too much, though…

Roger is getting heavier, causing the couch to lean over on his side, raising Peter.

Oh, you’re right! I first interpreted it as Peter having a teenage-boy growth spurt and getting TALLER!
