This one’s not a very good pun. The phrase is “jury of YOUR peers”. “Peers” would be just people who consider themselves peers (equals) of each other and does not imply they accept you as a peer. Altering a fundamental perception of our justice system is a bit far to go for a pun. Hey, at least he’s not being tried by the “grapes of wrath”.
