Caulfield: Check it out, Frazz. You can buy these little adhesive google eyes at the craft store. I could stick them on my eyelids and sleep through social studies. Frazz: If you sleep through social studies, your eyelids wouldn't give you away. Holding still would give you away. Caulfield: I bet I could learn to fidget in my sleep.

Social Studies is what used to be called World History, but now it’s a study of the last 2 years (max).

Depending on the year, social studies used to be state, national, and world history, geography, or civics. Our first exposure to world history was in the 6th grade. It was my favorite subject — especially when my father pointed out the errors and limitations in the text book (it totallly ignored the histories of Asia and pre-Columbian Americas).

He could listen to a zombie movie while sleeping and his body would act out the nightmare. Until he’s awakened and starts using his chainsaw on that person.

In my classes, we acted out trade deals, heard music, looked at art, read various materials, made maps. All this and more to study the “GEographic, Political, Historic, Religious, and Social culture of …” various places in the world. (pronouced gephers). 8 grade – US History, 18th & 19th centuries. 10th grade World Hist. continued. 11th grade US Hist. continued.
