Girl: Mom, can I ride to the orchard. Mom: Yes, but don't forget your helmet. Don't ride against traffic, don't talk to strangers, don't get too dirty and don't ruin your dinner. Miss Plainwell: Looks like you've got plans! Girl: Cider and don'ts.

We have orchards near here that put on an “Apple Festival” and make the best pumpkin doughnuts – fried just as you order, tossed in sugar and cinnamon, then served to you still warm and oh-so tasty.

I grew up when you walked and rode facing traffic to see and be seen. Wan’t until many years later, I almost got a ticket for riding a bike on the wrong side of the road. Luckily the base police understood. Still say it is safer to ride against the flow of traffic BUT since bicycles have the rights of a vehicle nowI guess they have to stay on the right side. Just wish they would act like vehicles ALLL the time and not just when convenient. http://comments-life.blogspot.com/2012/03/rights-of-bicyclists-on-road.html

Being a southern boy, I had to look that one up. Never heard of cider and doughnuts down in these parts.

they tell their kids to wear a helmet while biking, but the adults are texting while driving with their knees. adults tell kids not to ruin their dinner. But, dinner is at all you can eat buffet places, because they can’t cook.

Adults have a difficult enough time telling right from wrong – how can they be expected to remember right from left?

That’s the most androgynous adult I’ve seen in this comic.

There are a lot of orchards around me here in SE Michigan, and virtually all of them have cider mills. And doughnut fryers.
