Mr. Spaetzle: Working up an appetite?
Frazz: Pre-burning calories?
Man: Trying to make the rest of us look bad?
Frazz: I didn't know I needed a reason to run.
Miss Plainwell: If you ever do, these people are very helpful.
Exactly, it’s the people who never get off their backsides & go outside, who seem to need (& supply) the ridiculous reasons – not those actually doing it!
People, this is the one day of the year you should just chow down and not feel guilty….and be thankful….If that’s how you feel….My advice is to save the political arguments until the cordials are poured…….
Getting ready to head out to the five mile Turkey Trot race. The best way to start Thanksgiving. I’ve done so every year for about the last twenty. Then shower, then food, family, football, drinks! Hope everyone has a great day too.
For some reason I’ve never been able to actually run. Best I can manage is an uncoordinated trot in which my feet slap the ground with the force of a small eathquake. Sometimes I dream of running, and it’s usually in slow motion. Makes me think my proportions are just a mismatch to the gravity on this planet or something. Anyway, those of you who can run and enjoy it, more power to you. I do fine on a bicycle, and love hiking in the woods. So, once the grain is in the mash tun (I’m brewing up a batch of American Amber ale today), I think I’m off to the forest preserve while the barley does its thing. And a Happy Thanksgiving to all.
For some of us there is no joy in running, only pain & breathing difficulty. We’re not lazy and we’re not missing out. Runners are not better because they run, they are just doing what they enjoy.

Whatever floats your boat, moderation is relative. Enjoy the day…

My dogs give me a reason to run, but, if it weren’t for the leashes, they’re still far faster than me and would leave me way behind.
