Caption: The sun sets close to 5pm but I cannot yet leave and do my Christmas run when it is merely Christmas eve. So many hours of darkness left- the sun comes up at eight- though Sunday Christmas runs aren't really safe to start that late. The way the Vanderhydes trade paint with Mrs. Pettigrew, as Lester, Dr. Crustman and the Pfister sisters do their nascar imitation in their Chryslers racing to the choicest parking space at church and even choicer pew but not too early, either, as the quarter moon (just right to gently set the snow aglow in periwinkle light) comes up at half past four, which means at five-o-five it's prime conditions and position to confirm it's running time to start my yearly solo gloria excesis deo, and make like meb keflezighi once I've planned like Galileo.
