Mr. Burke: Creative writing assignment: write your own bogus excuse note. Convince me, and I'll actually give you Friday off. Frazz: Isn't the school closed Friday for teacher training? Mr. Burke: Ok, so it's a lesson in general awareness, too.
Since creative seems to be the key element here, I have no qualms if a teacher creatively uses a free day to boost creativity in the class. I am rather impressed.
