Amen to that, sister. Next time someone asks me, “How are ya?” I’m going to say, “Picasso” and they’ll say, “Gesundheit!”

I once read an essay about Picasso. It seems that his most outrageous art was done because he was “baiting” the critics. He stated publicly that the more “out-there” his work was, the more the critics praised it, so he kept on getting more and more so just to see how far he could go.

As long as you have a personality that can attract a wealthy sponsor you can call anything art.

I don’t even want to think about what this might imply about Jackson Pollock.

I’ve read the research on the theory that Impressionists were near-sighted. None of it is based on actual examinations of the artists in question, just assumptions based on what they know about nearsightedness now.

In short, it is an opinion of scientists that is not based on science. Heaven forbid a scientist actually accept the creative statement of a mere artist!
