Looks, like Mr. Mallett is trying to get the spotlight off ol’ Caulfield. This little girl is starting to make a good pitch for the smarty pants job in Mrs. Olsen’s class. I wonder if Jef is ever going to feature them both in the same strip and whether they’ll team up or spar?
http://www.gocomics.com/frazz/2018/09/27The late, great writer David Foster Wallace might have been capable of writing a bad sentence — indeed, writing was apparently excruciating for him — but he sure never let one out where we could see it. And for all his greatness, he may be best remembered by a lot of people for a joke. He wrapped a beautiful commencement address around it, and it goes something like this: Two young fish swim past an old fish, and the old fish says, “Morning, boys. How’s the water?”. The two young fish swim on a ways until one asks the other, “What the hell is water?”
This might be as close as I ever get to writing like David Foster Wallace, or writing about the same thing, and what I’m doing is a whole lot less than 30% of the way there.

If they called it anything, I guess they would call it home.

Ergo, except for one notable exception humans cannot walk on water.

The fish would have a better case to make, since they’re the ones who seem to be on a planet that’s actually made for them.
