Once in a while parents actually know what’s better for you.

Parents also know that often what you want (or think you want) would not be so good for you (at least not right now).

Too many times we were lucky to have Christmas gifts, growing up..

And a child’s wants too very often exceeds the parent’s pocketbook! Add to that, limited time to shop in brick-n-mortar, or on-line stores & there could be a fair amount of substitutions in getting said items on said list!

The list is just to give the parents a good laugh.

Twisted logic for a kid that age. And maybe for Frazz, too.

I know people feel a need to defend the parents but if the parents had a good reason to ignore her list, they should explain it; otherwise they are merely teaching their daughter that her wishes are easily ignored even by those that love her.

Actually it’s more like those made-up “goals for next year” that they always insist on you making up. Over the next 12 months, the upper management reads a few books and changes all the goalposts accordingly, so that by the time the next evaluation comes up, those “goals” made up at the end of last year mean nothing. As long as the evaluation is reasonable in recognizing this, it’s all good…but even so, that exercise of making up the goals in the first place is a totally pointless waste of time.

Fiscal year runs from June to June.
