Cycling “apparel” is functional and very expensive. I wear my bib shorts until mt wife says she can see my back side through the spandex. As far as fashionable goes, a crusty old fart (I realize that’s me now, minus the crusty) at a red light once looked at me, shook his head in disgust and said : do you realize what you look like?
If he’s like me with running wear he wears his favorite bike clothes until they fall apart, completely the opposite of fast fashion. Because the manufacturers always discontinue your favorite style and then you have to try to find something that works half as well.
Kid may be talking about the YOLO approach to life. Folks who feel they will only live once seem to buy and discard at a whim. They seem to make no attempt to recycle or reuse or pass on to offspring or to others. Those of us born in more austere times take a different approach.

Probably not the biggest landfill filler-upper. To-go containers probably claim that honor.

That’s the advantage of not caring what you look like. Your clothing budget is much more manageable.

I’m still wearing items I bought 25 years ago. Timeless.

Fast fashion is definitely not a Plugger thing.

The question is not whether he’s fast or fashionable, it’s whether he throws out his clothes after a few uses. Kid is wrong as usual.
