Yup, after 32 years at A&P they turfed my wife and 60 plus people to make them look profitable just to sell the Canadian division to pay off debt. Kept the same business model and were gone within 5 years.
A guy I worked with years ago quit the company to go work for his father’s company. His father ended up firing him. But then he got a much better job elsewhere, so I guess it worked out in the end.
