Awwww. I always start telling my fur friends that I’m leaving a couple days before vacation, and let them know I’ll be back. Kate’s buddies are just showing their love.
Years ago, I had emergency surgery to remove a portion of infected small intestine and spent a week in the hospital. At the time we had two Rottweilers. When my wife got me home and situated in bed, she let the dogs in. First thing they did was jump up on the bed and my belly and both licked my face at the same time. I was incapable of fending them off, so my wife had to get them off of me. Both wouldn’t leave the bedroom for days, except to eat and take care of business outside.
I hope Sirius’ family can help him work through his separation anxiety regarding Kate. Dogs seem to have less tolerance for being temporarily separated from their people than cats do.

Eep! I don’t take well to being awakened. Assuming, of course that anyone can actually wake me up.
