I’ve never noticed it before, but at least some of Garfield’s poses are straight out of Mad Magazine’s Don Martin. The walking rigidly upright, with oversized feet with toes curled under, for example. Guess every cartoonist has to have had role models, and Don Martin sure would have been a good one. He was a master at the craft.
Sudden memories of the giant snowball, the second giant snowball, we kids really outdid ourselves…but then suddenly we realized there was no way we were getting that thing up there on top of the big one. Dad! Dad took in the scene, said that no he couldn’t lift that (but Dad! You’re Dad! and then got a plank and together (mostly Dad) we rolled that thing up there and into its rightful spot. Dad was a genius.
He started rolling the first snow ball near his door and went away from it, so the snowman is near the neighbor’s house, facing home. Of course, there’s magnifying glass in the window, so objects look closer than they really are. Good old comic physics.

Not much chance down here, unless you drive up to the snow.

That snowman is watching Garfield relaxing with it’s own 2 eyes made out of coal.

Does cocoa taste better after it kills the cat or before?

Seems like too much work…especially for Garfield! Don’t believe it for a second!

Wouldn’t know. It has not snowed where I live since 1989.

Too true. Another best is on cold rainy days when you don’t have to work, all your chores are done and you have a good book to read.

I prefer one of the hard ciders, warmed. Really nice after doing the driveway.

Aliens have stolen Garfield and left an impostor in his place. I ask you, would the real Garfield go out in the snow and build a snowman?

You earned it, Garfield.

Lutnsls is referring to the fact that chocolate in large amounts can be fatal to cats (and dogs).

How is Garfield minus Garfield going to handle this?!

Hey Garfield…do you want to build a snowman?

Can’t argue there

Sadly I’ve never actually built a snowman (I realize this might shock some)
