When I was a kid we were tougher than that. One of our favorite lines was “catch a tiger by the tail.” Although I don’t know any kid that was confirmed to have actually done it.

reminds me of when Garfield was holding Squeak by the tail to help his back problem. maybe it’s the same situation but Jon brags without knowing.

The only reason this isn’t disturbing is because the mouse’s front legs aren’t hanging limply, which indicates he is alive and just letting Jon hold him by the tail for some reason.

Though tt could be that he likes it, which would be disturbing for a whole different reason.

When I visit someone with cats, I usually tease them about wanting to catch mice. Like Garfield, they ignore me.

I’ve never found cats to be that good at mousing. Now, dogs are a different matter. The dog I have living with me is a real great mouser. She’s a pit bull mix and she loves stalking and trapping mice and baby possum. Maybe she has a little rat terrier in her.

OK then we got a new mouser in the house. It’s about time Jon got a job.

A man told an old lady: “I’m afraid I ran over your cat and killed it. I’m truly sorry, and I’d like to replace it.” The woman answered: “That’s all right with me, but how are you at catching mice?”

Years ago, we pointed out a mouse in the dining room to our cat. Tigger was interested. She sat and watched the mouse until she got bored and wandered out of the room.

Jon, you’ve known Garfield for 43 years now. Can’t you accept that he doesn’t want to chase mice?

If he really caught a live mouse, I’d be amazed. Having worked in several labs, occasionally someone had to catch a mouse that got out of a cage. It’s really hard to do!

I’m concerned about the mouse… all the blood rushing to his head.

I think so….otherwise it won’t have the legs, just the head, body, and tail.
