“Lampshaded” would have been funnier.

But you should see the other cat.

That’s not a “cone of shame”. That’s a fattened duck feeding funnel I borrowed from US Acres. I’m expecting the lasagna truck zny moment now.

Oh, no! Did Jon give Garfield THE operation?

The cone of shame. With Liz being a veterinarian, it had to happen sooner or later.

Inverted lampshade that is.

Looks like things didn’t go well when Garfield visited Liz at her veterinary office.

He looks like Apollo 13 out of balance.

The cone should be facing the other way, to keep him from shredding the sofa and curtains like he did yesterday.

Today’s strip reminds me of one from the 1980s when Garfield ended up needing really serious medical treatment. It was when Odie’s owner Lyman was still sharing with Jon, Garfield and Odie.

In the strip, Jon was relaxing in a bubble bath. Garfield was having fun bursting the soap bubbles. He saw a really big soap bubble about the same size as himself. He stretched his claws out to burst the bubble while looking away from it. Big explosion. In the last panel, Garfield was bandaged up like a cat mummy with all four limbs in traction while Jon had a bandaged head and his arm in a sling. Lyman asked, “What happened to you guys?” Jon replied, “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you!”

“He has lost the bird. Put him in the cone of shame.”

“I do not like the cone of shame.”

A lamp without a bulb, even a dim bulb, is useless. But then that pretty much describes Garfield.

Just fill it with popcorn, Garfield will survive.
