I love Pooky!

Teddy bears sound a lot like dogs, although Garfield wouldn’t agree.

Even if they do judge, they keep quite about it.

“Imaginary” is out this weekend. I might travel to Leesburg to see it

they don’t comment because their mouths are sewn shut

I still have my teddy bear that my uncle gave me 67 years ago.

Teddy Bears forever.

Oh, you’ve been judged. You’re a fat, lazy cat who’s a slobbingly housekeeper.

I see Garfield made a reference to a certain TikTok challenge of the same name in the last two panels

Don’t forget the hugs Garfield

That because it a stuffed toy. Asks real bears and thems will tells ya what a lazy cat you is.

Congratulations Garfield, you made it through another Monday.

They are best friends that I think listen to you and never disagree but can’t help you in some cases

Our dog does that. Listens but no judgement.

Pooky is the best.

They’re still huggable and adorable. Awwwww!

This is why Teddy bears can never be a mother n law

And they’re not sentient

That’s why they make the best friends. They listen quietly to your problems without judgement. That can describe most pets, too!

I mentioned this before, my I still have my homemade stuffed jackal Benjy Benjamin that I regard as my Pooky.

They could never be clergy or President..

After all these years, Pooky has a PhD in listening.

I had a large stuffed tiger that ‘mysteriously’ vanished when I was in the hospital for a tonsilectomy. And my mom wondered why I ended up writing for comic books.

Most people might know this, but Teddy Bears are named after President Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt. He was on a hunt in 1902 and some members of his hunting party wanted him to shoot a bear which had been clubbed and tied up. Roosevelt steadfastly refused. It was wild, free roaming bears or nothing. When this was reported in the press it inspired a manufacturer of stuffed toys to make a bear and call it Teddy’s Bear. The rest is history.

Exactly the opposite of most of the people I know . . .

If only society was like Pooky..

When I was in kindergarten, I had this Tower Records teddy under the Ty brand.

Fortunately, ‘tRumpy Bear’ couldn’t overcome Teddy.

I got a fox plush from Build-a-Bear Workshop, his name is Akio (Japanese for “bright”) and I love him. ❤️

Kinda like a dog…and not at all like a cat.

People could learn a LOT from this!

My mom’s sister gave her a Teddy bear for her birthday some years ago, mom has passed for some time now but I still have it.

Just like dogs.☺♥x

…and unlike dogs, they don’t need to be fed, walked or taken to the vet
