That’s a good anecdote, Joe-Allen. Jim could make a great Sunday comic out of it.
Yes, beautiful art! I hope I never take it for granted. And it’s a real men’s barbershop too– mostly I see hair salons these days. There’s probably a stack of comics and sports magazines around there somewhere..
I took a visit over to that web page which Skeezix is always talking about. There was a place for comments and I told them that, while I thought it was a good idea for Skeezix Wallet to be talking about their Museum in the comic strip - what they needed to do was have Walt begin telling Skeezix and Nina about some of the things which Walt and Phyllis used to do to help out with the war effort while Skeezix was in the service. This would give regular readers of Gasoline Alley an opportunity to remember the days when Skeezix was in the service. Actually, since the museum is about the history of the Army - it would be grand if Walt remembered some of the time which Walt spent in the service. I figured that the author must actually be in touch with the folks running the web site for the Army Museum and this would be a good opportunity for regular readers to get a message through to Mr. Scanarelli that regular readers of Gasoline Alley really enjoy stories about Walt, Skeezix and the rest of the Wallett Clan - even if they are only talking about what life was like when they were younger!

When I get my hair trimed the one who does it doesn’t talk, whereas I do to kill time.

This scene reminded me of the Andy Griffeth show. Lots of scenes took place in Floyd’s barber shop.

This could be the start of a wonderful story arc.

Great comments as usual, Deborah.

I wouldn’t want the barber distracted by those…
And axe, everybody knows there are two “O”s in the word saloon.
…and I wouldn’t want to get a haircut in a saloon– too many gunfights!

Floyd is the best barber of all time! I found a Floyd’s Barber Shop t-shirt on the Zazzle site, and I wear it way too often!
