Rufus and Joel have been hanging around Gasoline Alley since at least the mid-1960s. So have Kitty and Becky, for that matter. There was a storyline circa 1965 when Joel was going to lose his shack where it was revealed that he served in WW1. That would make him about 110 years old… same as Uncle Walt
Hey, Suzy. These look like two compassionate and intelligent gentlemen. I’d suggest leaving your baby in their care so you can take a small, 15-year “mental health break”.
I think having Joel as a “father figure” would be good for any kid. Rufus could be fine as a “brother figure”. Suzy could do a whole heckuva lot worse than those two.
After thought: these two don’t even begin to compare to the ‘real’ shoppers.
Maybe….but you would be surprised of the people that shop at Walmart. I had received an email with a link of a web site that has pictures actually about a thousand of them of customers that shop at walmart at different places around the US. Some of them are hilarious with their fashion trend. The web site is

I am glad to have found Gasoline Alley here! Joel (and Rufus) are my favorite characters and I am glad we are in a new story arc with them!

ORteka: Exactly who I meant. I worked as a janitor at Wal-Mart. Their ‘habits’ were as disgusting as their clothing.
