Maybe Walt can’t hear Rufus knocking on the door. I certainly hope the kitten won’t wander off by the time Walt opens the door. And Walt has enough trouble caring for himself without caring for a kitten. Kittens may be cute, but it’s never been mentioned in this strip about buying, cleaning and changing kitty litter as well as brushing cat hair off furniture.
I know, but I wouldn’t give up my own cat for anything!
Perhaps a lead in to a long awaited visit with Walt as he and his new companion get to know each other. Nothing like a new four legged friend to fill those lonely times eh?
My wife and I have enjoyed sharing our home with one or two cats since 1987, and I’ve had cats as pets since the 1960s. We’re enjoying this continuity!
@chasches“This would have been more appropriate on February 14th. Skeezix was left on Walt’s doorstep on St. Valentine’s Day, 1921”Agreed. Let’s hope Walt wears more than his bathrobe THIS discovery! IC you also have the Wallet Family Tree. (To others; Allison “Skeezix” was b. on Feb 9 that year.)Learned my first ‘big words’ reading this and Prince Valiant70+ years ago.(sigh).

An instant classic. I enjoyed the ride well enough, but the destination was beautiful.

I can hardly wait to see Uncle Walt. He should be well rested.

I think we all got the connection, but I hope Kanuckles is wrong about his prediction.

When Walt toddles off to the Old Comics Home, I hope they accept pets, too.
