I’m sure (well, pretty sure, anyway) that this flight will go fine. The bear with the scrapbook would make a good story, though no-one would believe it.
Apparently, the photographer and the pilot haven’t a clue about TFR.
Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR) are established between the Forest Service, BLM, State Forestry, and the FFA when a major forest fire erupts.
Only aircraft directly associated with the fire and under the control of the Air Operations Branch Director are allowed into the fire area established by the TFR,
Major fines, lose of license and possibly the plane it bad enough.
The pilots that drop retardant or water have too much worry about then some jack-ass happy go lucky sight seer.
Looks like a T-6 Texan. It was an advanced trainer in the 1940s. A student pilot wouldn’t be flying one of these unless they already had a couple hundred hours under their belt.
Well…. I wonder what happened to the color?!? I think that for comic relief here, now that everyone is safe (or was safe until the student pilot took control), we need Joel to come on the scene!
