Maybe Walt is ‘transitioning’ to the Old Comic Strip Character’s Home after all. Maybe even with Skeezix, as I guess we’re not celebrating his birthday again this year.

It’s a full… even overfilled classics update for the 9th:

Look out Omer, Cousin Lora has caught the eye of a new hunk-a hunk-a broad-shouldered man. Future chick-magnet Skeezix doesn’t understand why he was sent off. Yet.

It’s a super-sized serving of Rick, as first he’s the gallant knight helping Gaye in distress. Thank goodness she didn’t have a breakdown in front of a ‘public house’, oh my that pose. Later, Doc has about run out of patience with Old Reliable, but the Marshal offers to try and bronco-break him. The first ‘rodeo’ is said to have been in 1869, but I don’t think we can squeeze Rick’s county fair ridin’ days into the new, old era for the strip. But breaking horses is certainly something a cowboy might be asked to do.

Well… even in a town the size of Gotham, it was bound to happen one of these days – the secret seems to have been revealed. But then there’s still the mystery of why Vallorie fled the country in the first place, so nobody start putting their coat on just yet.

I could see where Walt and Phyllis may have attended a Rent party, and certainly a Costume party wouldn’t have been unusual. Maybe back early in their marriage, they might have gone to a “B.Y.O.B.” party, where you not only needed a bottle of hooch, but you had to know the password to get in.

The “old and gray” part might be misunderstood!

Why not round out Valentine’s Day by giving her a new steam iron too?
