Ah yes, a celebration of the time a traveller (Terry) came from afar and slaughtered a turkey (Doyle). Now bring on the football!

Careful there kdizzle, just because he’s Irish, doesn’t mean he’s a Traveller!

Terry will now introduce Doyle to The Irish Way: putting the boot in.

    Let’s watch.

No holiday greetings from Gil. I’m so disappointed I’m going to drown my sorrows in cranberry sauce,

I’m beginning to get worried about Gil’s health. I think I’ll find the old Rex Morgan, MD cartoon somewhere to see if Gil is being treated for some kind of a medical condition.

To cuttersjock- I regret to say I said so, no Gil Thanksgiving greeting. To lureman- Let’s buckle up for the BEST college basketball in the nation this season with our Kentuckiana teams. Let’s be thankful this storyline will fizzle by mid December.

I’ve been saying it for the past year at least – Gil has not called time out to wish us happy holidays in who knows how many years. I think ever since the kids disappeared, maybe he’s too embarrassed.

Gil called me this morning. He apologizes for not being able to appear in today’s strip, but he asked me to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

@Mr. Peterson. No, they both choked to death on a wishbone, which is why the Thorp’s prefer to be alone on Thanksgiving.

I miss Gil on this grand holiday. I hope he didn’t choke on the wish bone.

Dang, you’re right Have Mop — I had to look back to last Thanksgiving. Apparently we haven’t been getting Thanksgiving messages, but we do get a Christmas message each year. I guess that’s when we’ll see Gil again.

The last time Gil wished everyone Happy Thanksgiving was in 2001! Mimi and the kids were still in the picture, literally and figuratively. Paste this in your browser to check it out:

Gil did take a quick timeout from a hoops game to wish us a Merry Christmas last December 24, but no Mimi, no kids.
