Ahh, regional wrestling. Beech Bend Park with Ric Flair, Macho Man Randy Savage, Jerry “The King” Lawler and The Fabulous Fargo Brothers. My fraternity brother who majored in mixology, would serve 50 cent drinks after church for the 1 P.M. TV show. His chapter house room was a bar. Ha ha, sorority girls came for the drinks.

Reminds me of a guy that used to wrestle around these parts called “Cowboy” Bob Ellis. And the guy wearing the mask, that look say too familiar as well. Still, why did Gil get called in on this one? Foley’s record may be a little tarnished right now, but I still think you’d want a lawyer.

In all reality, the look in Gil s eyes tells it all. He also has a bad cut on his face maybe an electric razor might help.

The masked wrestler could be Mr. X, Dr. X, the Masked Assassin, the Masked Destroyer, etc. One thing is four sure, he was introduced as “Hailing from parts unknown; weight unknown.”

Dick the Bruiser was also very big in St. Louis, along with Pat O’Connor (from Wellington, New Zealand), Black Jack Lanza (and his manager, Pretty Boy Bobby Heenan), Gene Kiniski, Rufus R. Jones (master of the Atomic Head Butt), the Funk brothers (including Dory Funk Jr.) and Baron Von Roschke with the Iron Claw.

So now I suppose Pop has early dementia (thus the subwich order reminder) and actually believes that he’s Sheriff Johnny Blaze?

Where I lived it was Larry The Axe Henning. He also ran a real estate office the next town over.

Paul “The Butcher” Vachon was Mad Dog’s brother and tag team partner. Kenny Jay also went by The Sodbuster. My favorites were The Crusher – the Man Who Made Milwaukee Famous and partner of Dick The Bruiser, and Bull Bullinski

“Johnny Blaze” is Marvel’s Ghost Rider. I wonder if he has a motorcycle.

I miss Curt " Mr. Perfect" Henning. His son is currently wrestling under the name Curtis Axel as tribute to Dad and Grandpa.

Anyone remember Farmer Alfalfa, Around 6’6’ or taller and almost that wide it seemed. 5 or 6 hundred pounds with a horseshoe hanging below his neck.

We didn’t have the Gagnes, or if we did it was after I stopped following it.
