If there are few seniors, presumably there were few juniors a year ago. Or did a lot of seniors decide not to play this year, that another year of Gil was too much? Marty asks a legitimate question.
Gil looks pretty angry in P1. Drunken Marty must have puked on his shoes.
Marty’s biggest (and only) fan in P2.
Role play time at the Baders in P3. Momma Bader, dressed as A-Rod in her finest Yankee pinstripes. Grand Master Bader in his team doctor costume getting ready to administer a “B-12 shot” to the lovely Mrs. Bader. Okay dear, bend over, this won’t hurt me a bit.
P. 1…Looks like Gil is envisioning his image on Mt. Rushmore….which by the way is his offensive scheme for the upcomming foot ball season commencing in November!
P1- Gil in forefront with ominous cumulus clouds…forecast is a stormy season. P2- Meanwhile, reading The Daily Milfordian, George Reeves reprises his role as Superman.
@kdizzle: Stumped? Everyone knows these cases cost an arm and a leg. She came up with the retainer fee. Remember fore warned is forearmed. P-2 – Why does he have a framed Rorschach on the wall?
P2 – Clark Kent doesn’t seem too concerned about Milford’s lack of seniors.P3 – As soon as I saw this I wondered, “any chance nobody has mentioned Ella Bader’s stump arm yet?” Of course, the answer was “no”, first comment nails it.
…speaking of stumped, Steve Boone must be practicing with Jon Jawor out at Milford CC. after all, he’s been playing for two years now, should be challenging for the club championship.
Seriously, if she is not an amputee, where the hell is the rest of her arm? Try to put your arm in that position where others couldn’t see your forearm and hand from that angle. And Marty is really stretching for controversy this season. Blaming Gil for losing seniors and having no talent in the next class. It’s not like he can magically recruit or attract last second transfer students. Oh wait, yes, yes he can. Like every year. And speaking of magic, it’s kind of like magic, you just click the following link and voilà, there’s today’s Mopped Up Thorp.
My freshman year we were expecting 21 juniors to come out for football based on the previous year. Fifteen decided to boycott because of our coach (long story). Most came back the next year. Coach was vindicated in the long run. We were 10-1 both my sophomore and junior years.

Big gap in the storyline here – how did Ma Bader lose the lower half of her right arm? I’m stumped. I’m also stumped by the exchange in P2.

I guess that’s a random WDIG listener in p2, sitting with his back to the replica Mercury capsule he keeps in his living room.

Well I think P3 is going to find a prominent spot in a lot of law offices around the country.

This may be turning into a cooking show. We have already found a good mixing Bader. Our second baseman is apparently fond of flap jacks.

Yeah, right, Gil. It’s always the parents’ fault.

I think that’s a window and some tree branches.

@gzitver: Yes, he taps some keys at the same time. I believe that makes him a stereo type. (apologies to Eddie Lawrence, the Old Philosopher.

Nobody would say, “Distressingly few seniors.” You’d say, “What happened to last year’s juniors?”
