That was what I thought and was about Calvin’s age when I found out. even then I felt very bitter about it.Starting the1. "why isn’t this bird moving?2. Will you die Mama?3. Will I die?and all the normal rejecting and tears.May even Said out loud, What’s the point of that.Later I got what I consider “proof” of an afterlife in the form of a very realistic vision.

Nobody of any TRUE Chrisatian faith tries to impose anything on anybody. We TELL people about Christ (what we refer to as “witnessing”) but we totally respect another’s free will that God so graciously gave us.

The point of leaving is what you make of it. If we’re all going to die sooner or later, might as well do whatever you can to make the world less miserable.

In the words of Shepard Book…“The destination doesn’t matter. How you get there is the worthier journey”…Shepard Book, Firefly ep. 1…“Serenity”

(That’s from memory after just one cup of coffee, so it might not be exactly right, but it’s close…)

    He said

    “I went skydiving

    I went Rocky Mountain climbing

I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fumanchu

    And I loved deeper

    And I spoke sweeter

And I gave forgiveness I’d been denying”

    And he said

Back on New Year’s Eve of 1963, I was 8 years old. I remember crying silently in bed that night because the year was changing from 1962 to 1963. I was very sad because to me time was passing and nothing was ever going to be the same. My life was not changing, just time was moving along with or without me. I also had seen lots of meanness in my little world and I decided that no matter what I would be nice. As I grew older, being kind has always been my thing. I think being kind everyday, doing kind things and making people smile is one of the best feelings. It has nothing to with whether you are atheist or religious, but who you are inside. Just being a kind person and helping others along the way.

Even if there is an afterlife, it doesn’t give this life on Earth any meaning. Food, sleep and sex make my time here bearable.

I agree with Calvin. I’m depressed and see very little point. Also I feel I must add that I’m annoyed by people who think an afterlife gives them a free pass to treat this world poorly. Whatever you believe, leave this Earth in the same, or better condition than you found it.

You need to be educated on how to talk to believers and name calling isn’t on the roster of how to handle it. Don’t be mean unless you want mean in return. Just either make the correction and say nothing or just delete that part and the rest is okay. From one Atheist to another. Be sure to capitalize it!

It perplexes me often. My mom says to go to heaven. OK, then what?!? What’’s the point of that? You just sit and chill in Heaven forever? What’s the point of that?Reincarnation? Again what’s the point? And so on and so on…
