Darn it! Today's the first day of school! It's the dreaded first day of second grade. I really don't want to go. But, hey, teaching is my job!

School started THREE WEEKS AGO!!! YOU’RE LATE!!! Get with it! All over the country kids are going back to school within the first 10-12 days of August! Next year you’re going to have to start these MUCH much earlier!!! In AL (for instance) it’s the second Wednesday of August for the first day of school!

In northern Virginia, most schools don’t start until after Labor Day.

My ex- brother-in-law (who lives in Texas – wish he didn’t) used to keep the kids out of school until after labor day as a political protest.

Hey it’s Mr. D the twins teacher! This is the first time we see him without his glasses but I haven’t seen Gabby without her glasses in years.

I’m don’t know about the rest of Canada, but in BC – public school starts after Labour Day. . And having taught adult classes…..its only easy if you teach several classes on the exact same subject. Prep for one is prep for all.
