Why do the elderly ladies at church always pinch my cheek and tell me how much I've grown? It makes them happy. Can I do the same thing back to them? No, that would be rude. They can pinch me, but I can't pinch back? That's right. So let me get this straight: I must endure pain for no sensible reason? Your suffering is for a just cause. More like a just because.
someday, you will be old. then you can pinch little kids. or choose not to, because you actually remember what it was like to be pinched like that.
