We dogs never evolved to the point where we could talk. Someone feeds us, provides a roof over our heads, lets us outside and gives us everything we need without ever asking. So we never devolved to the point where we could talk. Exactly.
Some truth to this. If you look back in the history of our development, the human race is tied very closely to dogs. They have been our companions, guardians, and hunting partners for a very long time.
