Pop, huh? Mike Thompson must be from the Midwest. We called it that in Indiana when I was growing up. Although in WI we know what pop is, we call it soda here (at least in the bigger cities).
In the NW, we call it either Pop or by the name of the cola soda. Depends on the menu of the place you get it. If we get it in the store though, I will tell my huband to get a six pack of coke, and Coca-Cola is what I get. Then again, he knows my preferrred brand. If a place just serves Pepsi products, I order unsweetened iced tea instead.

In Michigan it’s pop… Faygo pop!
